Mr. Ferré has mostly held electoral positions throughout his public career, most notably his 12 years of service as Mayor of the City of Miami (1973 - 1985). He has also served in the Florida House of Representatives, as a City Commissioner of Miami and as Vice-Chairman of the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners (1994 - 1995). In addition to public positions, he has served as president/director of corporations in Miami, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Panama. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Inter-American Dialogue. Mr. Ferré earned his bachelor's degree in architectural engineering and master of business administration at the University of Miami.
