Maggie Cortez-Kirkpatrick was hired in July of 2006 to serve as the Public Communications Manager for Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX). She is responsible for overseeing the public relations, marketing, advertising and communications programs for the Authority. Her duties include working in concert with MDX directors, consultants, and contractors to plan, coordinate and provide professional public relations, marketing, advertising, and communication services to help maintain a positive image of all Miami-Dade Expressway Authority projects and activities. Her knack in developing and fostering partnerships between transportation entities, stakeholders in area businesses, the community, and the government is her strongest asset in her capacity as Public Communications Manager.
Ms. Cortez-Kirkpatrick has been involved in the Transportation industry for over 15 years. Her expertise includes business development, project management, development and implementation of strategic marketing and public involvement plans, planning and coordination of public meetings, and the facilitation of industry meetings.
Prior to working for MDX, Ms. Cortez-Kirkpatrick worked for Parson Brinckerhoff and served as the Project Director for Florida's Department of Transportation (FDOT) South Florida Commuter Rideshare Program, covering Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. In this role, she was consistently successful in building marketing programs and public relations that generated strong partnerships with public and private agencies and garnered attention and increased awareness of Commuter Assistance Rideshare Programs and Services provided in the densely populated South Florida regional area.
Born in Cuba and raised in South Florida, Ms. Cortez-Kirkpatrick and her family currently reside in Weston, Florida.
